May got off to a fantastic start with a reasonably showy Wilson's phalarope at Graffham Water in Cambridgeshire.

 

The next stunning bird was a hoopoe at Bishops Stortford in Hertfordshire, I spent a fair few hours with this bird.

 

Later in the month I had a two day trip to Bempton cliffs, what a place, birds everywhere!
