April 2007

The main photographic highlights of the month came in the shape of two species I've been wanting to photograph for years. Firstly a red kite over Titchwell, not the quality of shots that people get elsewhere, but nice to get one in Norfolk. Then later in the month I finally managed to get some reasonable shots of the stone curlew at Weeting. With half a dozen failed attempts last year I was pleased to get them on the second visit this year.

Another highlight was provided by a ringed plover at Salthouse that showed very well, it was then joined by a second one and they mated in front of my camera!

At the end of April I had a day at Minsmere, beautiful weather and lots of showy birds, so loads of photos.

It was also a good month for mammals, with my first decent photos of roe, red and muntjac deer.
